Electroplating is the process of plating a thin layer of metal or alloy on a metal surface using the electrolysis principle. The purpose of electroplating is to deposit a metal coating on the basis material , attach a metal film, and change the surface properties or dimensions of the basis material. It can prevent metal oxidation (such as rust), enhance hardness, lubricity, improve wear resistance, heat resistance, conductivity, reflectivity, corrosion resistance (copper sulfate, etc.) and improve appearance. According to the difference of coating material, it has different effect in practical application.
In the electroplating process, due to the different material properties of the prototype, there is a difference between the plastic prototype and the metal prototype in the electroplating process. The adsorption force of the plastic prototype is strong , and can be directly electroplated on the outer surface of the prototype. The metal prototype needs to be sprayed with a layer of primer before electroplating, so that the effect will be good and the time of corrosion prevention will be longer. The metal prototype is not strong in adsorption force , and if directly plated , it is easy to fall off .
